Mental Health Special Needs Fund
Children’s Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services departments continue to provide a wide range of services to the community including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation and medication management to children and adolescents. Approximately 6,500 patients are seen each year and range in age from toddlers to young adults and come, not only from the Twin Cities, but also greater Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
New innovative approaches to meet the growing challenge of children in acute behavioral crisis are continually being developed. Group Therapy is an important area of need and targets the patients that are most frequently referred for outpatient child mental health services. A strong team of dedicated psychologists, psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, many of whom have been with Children’s for 10 or more years, are passionate about the program and the patients they serve.
